SELFSURVEYS.COM PRIVACY POLICY

FOR SURVEY PARTICIPANTS

SelfSurveys.com is a service of Universal Responses Corporation ("URC"), a Delaware Corporation. URC is committed to protecting your personally identifiable information. Please read the following to learn about our privacy policy. The following sets forth URC’s privacy policy for general visitors and Survey Participants (defined below) on the sites of URC located on the World Wide Web at SelfSurveys.com and SelfSurveys.net (collectively, the “Sites”).

From Whom Does URC Collect Personally Identifiable Information?

URC has two types of users: (1) [“Clients”] who build and deploy surveys using the URC online survey tools, and (2) “Survey Participants” who respond to and answer surveys that have been built by Clients using the URC's online survey tools, which surveys are deployed by Clients directly to Survey Participants (usually via an email containing a hyperlink), and finally analyzed by URC’s automated, online software tools.  This privacy policy pertains to the use of the Sites by general visitors and Survey Participants. If you would like to view URCs’ privacy policy relating to its Clients’ use of the Sites, please visit our Privacy Policy for ClientsIn addition, if you are a Survey Participant, we urge you to visit the privacy policy of the individual Client for whom you are completing a survey, as further explained below.

What Information Does URC Collect?

Personally Identifiable Information

In the case of general web users who visit the Sites but do not respond to a survey, URC does not collect any personally identifiable information. In the case of Survey Participants who visit the URC Sites and respond to surveys that are developed by Clients using the URC online survey tools and deployed to Survey Participants directly by Clients, URC’s automated, encrypted database receives the survey responses supplied by the Survey Participants.  The information contained in the survey responses and stored in the database may include URC Participants’ personally identifiable information.

Other Information

URC automatically collects and records information on our server logs from Survey Participants’ browsers including Survey Participants’ IP addresses, cookie information (further described below) and the page you requested.  Generally, this information is not personally identifiable to the Survey Participant.

What Are Cookies?

A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier, that is sent to your browser from a Web site's computers and stored on your computer's hard drive.  Each web site can send its own cookie to your browser if your browser's preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a web site to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other sites. URC uses cookies to help gather information to provide a better service. You can configure your browser to accept all cookies, reject all cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set. However, cookies must be enabled on your browser in order for URC to provide the best experience possible and the advanced functionality of the URC service.

What does URC Do With the Information Collected?

URC’s database automatically compiles and analyzes the data received from the Survey Participants who have responded to the survey and provides the applicable Client with both the survey responses and an analysis of the survey responses. In this process, URC employees do not access the survey responses or analysis of the survey. However, the Client who has deployed the survey will receive and access the responses applicable to its survey and the analysis of its survey responses, including any personally identifiable information about Survey Participants contained therein, as further described below.

To Whom Will URC Give Survey Participants’ Personally Identifiable Information?

URC will provide the survey responses of Survey Participants, including any personally identifiable information contained therein, to the Client that has created and deployed the applicable survey.  Each Client’s use of such survey information, including personally identifiable information, is governed by the particular Client’s privacy policy. URC does not control how a Client uses the information obtained through survey responses. For example, in addition to using such personally identifiable information internally, Clients may provide such information to third parties, including without limitation URC.  For this reason, we suggest you visit the privacy policy of the applicable Client prior to completing a survey.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

URC may amend this privacy policy from time to time. If we make any substantial changes in the way we use your personally identifiable information, we will notify you by posting a prominent announcement on our Sites for at least thirty (30) days. Please check this privacy statement and our Sites on a regular basis for these important notices.
